Teflon Coating

| As an added bonus to those that have a desire for a more protective surface or to add a decorative touch of their firearm, Doug’s Gunsmith Shop, can prep your firearm for a specialized coating. These coatings have a Teflon ® or similar ingredient in it and go by many different trade names, i.e., Kal-Guard, Dupont, PTFE, Everlube, and Magnigard. These coatings provide; dry film lubrication, corrosion protection, abrasion protection, chemical resistance, and extended wear life. Below are samples of colors: |

The coatings are for those that use their firearms in extreme conditions. Water fowlers, law enforcement officers, and competition shooters, would benefit from the extended life of the finish. These coating look great on a matted surface.
For shooters looking to have polished gold accents, i.e. triggers, trigger components, trigger housings, screws, pins, and receivers!; a much more durable finish is achieved by titanium nitriding your parts. You’ll have the look and shine of gold, without the worry of the gold plating you may have now, wearing off or peeling. This looks the best when applied to a polished surface.
